Head weight influences how the club is delivered to the ball. If you've ever had a favorite club, then you already know that some return square and centered more naturally. The goal is to find the head weight that produces a centered strike pattern with the least amount of manipulation — because manipulation is the enemy of repeatable swing.

FAQ

Are they rules-conforming?

Yes. Wedge Weights™ comply with the USGA Equipment Rules after bonding because they are:

  1. Firmly affixed before play begins;
  2. Not adjustable during a round;
  3. Do not contact or affect the clubface;
  4. Remain fixed in position throughout play;
  5. Function as a semi-permanent extension of the club; and 
  6. Visually subtle, plain in appearance, and discreetly positioned. 
Are they going to fly off?

PLAY MODE: No.
Our custom bonding strips utilize the same 3M™ VHB™ material used to replace rivets on commercial aircraft. See "PLAY MODE" below for more information.

TEST MODE: Possibly.
They are adjustable during testing, so we do recommend testing indoors. However, it takes a very poor strike to create enough torque to dislodge a Wedge Weight™ from your club during testing. See "TEST MODE" below for more information.
Can they be removed?

Yes. But solvent alone won’t break down 3M™ VHB™. The foam core needs to be separated first.

  1. Use heat from a blow dryer, then cut through the foam core with dental floss or fishing line.
  2. Remove any remaining material with a plastic scraper and clean the sticky residue with a citrus-based adhesive remover.

HOW THEY ATTACH

TEST MODE

MAGNETIC CORE

  • Wedge Weights™ are designed around a premium magnetic core that attaches securely to any steel iron or wedge not covered in plastic badging.
  • The core consists of N52 Sintered Neodymium Iron Boron (NdFeB) — the highest grade of the strongest magnetic formula commercially available.
  • 17-4 stainless steel was selected and shaped around our magnetic core to triple its pull force via a "Pot Magnet" design.
  • This essentially captures and redirects 360° of magnetic flux back through the sidewalls directly into the clubhead for a shockingly secure attachment from a relatively small and low-profile form factor.
  • A black silicon shim comes pre-attached to each Wedge Weight via a temporary adhesive.
  • The silicone shim protects the club, amplifies friction, and preserves the cell structure of the bonding strips until you are ready to convert from TEST MODE to PLAY MODE.

PLAY MODE

CUSTOM 3M™ VHB™ STRIPS

  • Once you’ve determined the weight and location, custom 3M™ VHB™ 5925 strips are includes to semi-permanently bond the Wedge Weight to the back of your clubhead.
  • The VHB™ (Very High Bond) closed-cell core is specifically engineered to bond coated metals in demanding outdoor conditions.
  • The VHB™ conforms to surface irregularities and distribute stress evenly for a long-lasting, weather-resistant bond that complies with the USGA Rules of Golf.
  • Before bonding, remove the black silicone shim and clean off the temporary adhesive with the enclosed alcohol pads.
