FAQ
Are they rules-conforming?
Yes. Wedge Weights™ comply with the USGA Equipment Rules after bonding because they are:
- Firmly affixed before play begins;
- Not adjustable during a round;
- Do not contact or affect the clubface;
- Remain fixed in position throughout play;
- Function as a semi-permanent extension of the club; and
- Visually subtle, plain in appearance, and discreetly positioned.
Are they going to fly off?
PLAY MODE: No.
Our custom bonding strips utilize the same 3M™ VHB™ material used to replace rivets on commercial aircraft. See "PLAY MODE" below for more information.
TEST MODE: Possibly.
They are adjustable during testing, so we do recommend testing indoors. However, it takes a very poor strike to create enough torque to dislodge a Wedge Weight™ from your club during testing. See "TEST MODE" below for more information.
Can they be removed?
Yes. But solvent alone won’t break down 3M™ VHB™. The foam core needs to be separated first.
- Use heat from a blow dryer, then cut through the foam core with dental floss or fishing line.
- Remove any remaining material with a plastic scraper and clean the sticky residue with a citrus-based adhesive remover.
